    Italian cuisine typically makes people think of pizza and pasta, and while those are two immensely popular dishes with world-wide appeal, Italian cuisine is actually quite varied. Italy is comprised of 20 different regions, and each region has different influences that shaped their food historically.

    While Italian cuisine is varied, a few things are common throughout Italy: fresh, seasonal produce is preferred, pasta is everywhere, olive oil reigns supreme, and they take regional cheese preferences seriously.
